Supportive Oligonucleotide Therapy (SOT), also known as Antisense Oligodeoxynucleotide Therapy (AOT), is an advanced, precision-based treatment used in functional and integrative medicine to address chronic infections and certain cancers at the genetic level.

At Integrative Wellness FX, we offer SOT to patients throughout Dallas–Fort Worth, using a highly personalized process designed to target the exact genetic drivers of infection or cancer in each individual.

What Is Supportive Oligonucleotide Therapy (SOT)?

SOT is a gene-silencing therapy created from a patient’s own blood. Each treatment is uniquely designed to target a specific gene sequence responsible for replication or survival of an infectious organism or cancer cell.

Rather than stimulating or suppressing the immune system, SOT works by blocking a critical gene, preventing the target cell from producing essential proteins. When that gene is silenced, the cell can no longer survive and undergoes apoptosis, or programmed cell death.

Once administered intravenously, SOT remains active in the body for approximately six months, working continuously to eliminate the targeted cells.

Chronic Fatigue and Low Energy

Fatigue develops because cells are literally low on fuel. To compensate, the body slows metabolism and downregulates non-essential functions. Over time, this leads to persistent exhaustion that does not improve with rest.

Chronic Pain and Inflammation

Poor mitochondrial function increases oxidative stress, meaning free radicals accumulate faster than the body can neutralize them. This drives inflammation across tissues.
In the nervous system, inflammation can cause nerve hypersensitivity and exaggerated pain signaling even when imaging shows no structural injury. In muscles and connective tissue, mitochondrial dysfunction often appears as soreness, stiffness, or fibromyalgia-type pain.

Hyperthyroidism

Hyperthyroidism is characterized by excessive production of thyroid hormones, causing symptoms like rapid weight loss, anxiety, irritability, and heat intolerance. Common causes include autoimmune disorders, such as Graves' disease, and thyroid nodules.

Goiter

A goiter is an abnormal enlargement of the thyroid gland, which can occur due to iodine deficiency, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, or Graves' disease. Symptoms can include swelling at the base of the neck, difficulty swallowing, and breathing issues.

Thyroid Cancer

Thyroid cancer is the growth of malignant cells in the thyroid gland. Symptoms may include a lump in the neck, changes in voice, and difficulty swallowing. The cause multifactorial and due to the oxidative stress from numerous sources, but genetic factors and exposure to radiation can also increase risk.

The Science Behind SOT Therapy

SOT is based on decades of research in antisense DNA technology by European and American universities and biotechnology companies. The therapy has been refined and advanced by Research Genetic Cancer Center (RGCC), a medical genetics laboratory based in Greece that has been developing SOT protocols for nearly a decade.

How Antisense Oligonucleotides Work
DNA and RNA are made from nucleotides, the basic building blocks of genetic material. “Oligo” means few, and oligonucleotides are short nucleotide sequences, typically fewer than 20 bases. An antisense oligonucleotide is designed to bind to a specific messenger RNA (mRNA) sequence in a target cell.
When mRNA is bound by an antisense strand, it cannot bind to the ribosome. The protein encoded by that gene cannot be produced, making the gene nonfunctional. Blocking a critical gene causes the target cell to self-destruct.
In cancer applications, SOT targets genes responsible for anti-apoptotic signaling, removing the cancer cell’s ability to avoid programmed cell death.

How RGCC Creates a Personalized SOT

RGCC uses state-of-the-art genetic analysis to identify precise gene sequences of infectious agents or circulating cancer stem cells.

The process includes drawing the patient’s blood at our Dallas–Fort Worth clinic, isolating pathogens or circulating tumor cells, identifying the primary replication or survival gene, cross-referencing gene sequences with international genetic databases, and creating a perfectly matched antisense “anti-copy” strand.

The antisense strand is surrounded by a synthetic messenger RNA shell that enables it to penetrate the target cell wall. This compound is replicated into approximately 500 million to 1 billion identical SOT molecules and shipped back to the clinic for administration.

SOT does not interfere with healthy human cells, tissues, or organs.

The cost of SOT therapy is $2,200. This includes blood draw supplies, RGCC processing, SOT manufacturing, and intravenous administration by an IV nurse.

Cost of SOT Therapy at Integrative Wellness Fx

SOT is not an immune-modulating therapy. Side effects are generally mild and short-lived and may include headache, body aches, fatigue, sweating, diarrhea, cough, or low-grade fever. These symptoms typically resolve within 24 to 48 hours.

Safety and Side Effects

One SOT is usually sufficient per infection, though a second SOT may occasionally be needed after six months. Patients may receive up to three SOT doses in a twelve-month period. A one- to two-month gap is recommended between different SOT therapies.

Other natural or antiviral treatments do not negatively affect SOT effectiveness.

Treatment Frequency and Timing

The first step is RGCC blood testing to identify circulating tumor cells or specific pathogens. Results typically take two to three weeks.

After results are received, a single SOT protocol is selected based on the identified gene patterns. Only one type of SOT may be used at a time, either cancer or infection. Mixing different SOT therapies too closely together is not recommended due to the risk of cross-reaction.

The SOT is administered via intravenous infusion at our clinic. After infusion, the therapy works continuously for approximately six months.

Follow-up testing is strongly recommended to confirm resolution of infection or to monitor reduction in circulating cancer stem cells.

How the SOT Protocol Works

SOT is commonly used for chronic infections such as Lyme disease and other persistent viral or bacterial infections. Each infection requires its own unique SOT. Patients with multiple infections may need more than one SOT, though typically only one treatment per infection is required.

SOT is also used in integrative cancer care to target circulating tumor cells and cancer stem cells by inducing apoptosis. It can be used alongside conventional, integrative, or natural cancer therapies without interference.
